GNM
GNM or General Nursing Midwifery is a three-year course in the field of Nursing. The GNM programme focuses on a specific area of nursing practice such as maternity care, post-trauma care, rehabilitation, mental health care, data collection, and so on. GNM admission is done by entrance exams administered by state governments. There is no centralised examination for GNM admission. Students must have studied Science in grade 12 to be eligible for GNM admission.
Students who wish to pursue a GNM can proceed after passing their class 12 exam with the Science stream. The GNM course includes six months of mandatory internship. GNM Nursing course is one of the sorts of courses that can be considered a stepping stone for a bright career in the Nursing field. Graduates with GNM can start their careers by working with government and private hospitals and clinics.
The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on 31st December of the year in which admission is sought. The maximum age limit for admission shall be 35 years.
Minimum Educational Qualification
1.Minimum education eligibility criteria for admission for Diploma in General Nursing Midwifery is 10+2 with English and passed with 40% at thequalifying examination from any recognized board.
2. Candidates are also eligible from state open school recognized by State Government & National Institute of open school (NIOS) recognized by Central government, However Science streams with that is preferable .
3. 10+2 with English having 40% of marks & vocational ANM course from the school recognized by Indian Nursing Council with 40% of marks.
4. Registered ANM with pass marks.
5. 3% Disability reservation with a disability of locomotors to the tune of 40-50% of the lower extremity.
6. 5% relaxed for SC/ST candidates.
7. Students should be medically fit.
8. Minimum age for admission will be 17 years and Max 35 years (as on 31Dec of that year) . For ANM/LHV no age bar.
9. This college is not designed to frame male candidates hence no male candidates should apply for this course.
10. Admission of students shall be once in a year.
Minimum qualifying marks for entrance test shall be 50% marks.
